SAFETY, BEFORE ANYTHING ELSE ☐ All live work in this book runs at agreed control. Head contact follows your school's rules exactly; where head kicks are allowed, they are thrown at scoring touch, never through the target, and any partner can call the level down at any time. ☐ Full protective equipment for every live part: mouthguard, trunk protector where your system uses one, shin and instep guards, forearm guards, groin protection, and headguard where required. Equipment is checked before the round, not after the first complaint. ☐ Counter drills (Part 8) are the highest-risk work in this book. The counter partner throws at 50 percent speed until the reader's timing is proven, and speed rises only by the coach's call. ☐ Fakes invite reactions. A partner who flinches into your real kick has been hurt by your setup, not your technique. Fake distances are set so the follow-up can be pulled. If you cannot pull it, you are too close or too fast for the drill. ☐ Stop means stop, instantly, from either partner, no discussion mid-round.

Part 1: The Tell Audit (Run First, Repeat Monthly)

Partner-scored, one round of shadow, one round on pads, one live round. Score each tell 0 (absent), 1 (sometimes), 2 (habit). Film the live round; the camera scores what pride disputes.

Part 1: The Tell Audit (Run First, Repeat Monthly)
#TellShadowPadsLiveNote
1Bounce beat never changes for 10+ seconds
2Dip or shoulder drop before rear-leg kicks
3Front foot lifts or stamps before lead-leg kicks
4Same slide-in distance and angle every entry
5Attacks are single kicks with a full reset
6Hands drop below chest height during kicks
7Chin up and head on the center line while kicking
8Stands still 1 second after a kick lands
9Same setup picture always precedes the same kick
10Retreats in a straight line after attacking

Reading the audit: Any line scoring 2 live is this month's lead fault. Lines 1–4 are pre-kick tells (Parts 4 and 6). Lines 5 and 9 are pattern tells (Parts 3 and 5). Lines 6–8 and 10 are during-and-after tells (Part 7). Re-audit monthly; the book's work is ordered by your worst lines, not by part number.
