Mat Manual companion guide to "Tekki Shodan, Taken Apart." Print it. This workbook is the kata as a training object: the full 29-movement chart in JKA counting with a stance check for every movement, the kiba dachi standard written as measurable checks, a conditioning progression for holding the stance at length, bunkai cards for the crossing, hooking, and return-wave techniques, tempo and geography records, and a fault table keyed to the movements where each fault lives. Counting note, printed once: schools that count techniques only list this kata at 23 or 16 movements. This book counts the JKA way, head turns and crossing steps included, so its numbers match the Shotokan Quick Reference.

BEFORE ANYTHING: ALIGNMENT OUTRANKS DEPTH ☐ Knees track over the feet in every stance in this book. A stance held deep on caved knees is not conditioning; it is joint wear with a syllabus. ☐ Joint pain (as distinct from thigh effort) stops stance-holding work and is raised with your instructor. The stance health material in this manual treats sore stances in full. ☐ Conditioning times in Part 6 are ceilings, not targets to beat on day one. The progression is the training.
