THE STANDING RULES OF THIS BOOK ☐ The audit is honest or it is nothing. Hours are counted as they are lived, not as the timetable flatters them. ☐ Rest is scheduled like rent: fixed, first, and not traded away in a busy week. ☐ Coverage is built one duty at a time, to a written standard, never by handing over a whole class and hoping. ☐ A gauge in the red is data, not a verdict on anyone's dedication. The response to data is redesign, not exhortation. ☐ The head instructor's own training appears in this book's plans as infrastructure, and it is cut last, after everything else has been cut first.

Part 1: The Load Audit

Step 1: The class inventory. List every class in the week. For each, write the teacher and the true load: planning minutes, mat minutes, aftermath minutes (questions, parent talks, notes, follow-ups).

Step 2: The hidden blocks. Add the work that has no slot.

Step 3: The verdict. Total the week per person. This book's working ceilings, drawn from the pattern in the instructor research: a head instructor carrying more than about 20 true teaching-load hours a week on top of administration is spending reserves, whatever the timetable says. A school where one person carries more than 80 percent of the total teaching load has no resilience, whatever the total is. Write your numbers where you can see them:
