Mat Manual companion guide to "The Hammerlock: Catch's Bent Arm." Print it. The article prints the doctrine first, and this book runs on it: a hammerlock ripped is an injury, a hammerlock ridden is a system. Entries, control standards, staged finishes with a tap gate on every stage, and a full defensive half, in the article's order.

Name: ______________________________ Gym: ______________________________ Coach: ______________________________

BEFORE ANYTHING: THE TAP IS THE GATE ☐ A hammerlock ripped is an injury, a hammerlock ridden is a system. That sentence is read aloud before the first block of every stage in this book. ☐ The finish comes by inches, with a pause between inches. Any finish applied by a crank, a yank, or a fall ends the holder's finishing work for the block, pass/fail. ☐ A partner's tap, hand, foot, or voice, ends the rep in the same breath at every stage. So does any call, any sound that might be a tap, and the coach's voice. ☐ Release is complete and under control: grip open, arm let down, never dropped from the top of the fold and never held up while partners talk. ☐ Control is earned before finishes. No pair runs a finish stage they have not passed in writing in Part 27. ☐ A partner with a shoulder complaint, past or present, states it before pairing. That partner defends control stages only until the coach rules otherwise, pass/fail. ☐ Defence is drilled before finishes in every session plan in this book. A session that runs short cuts finish time, never defence time.

Stage rule for the whole book. A pair's stage is the lower of the two wrestlers' stages for this lock, per side where sides differ, written in Part 27. Stages are earned on this book's gates, not imported from experience in another hold or another art.

Session rule. Every session in this book teaches defence before it touches a finish, and the order is not rearranged for visiting wrestlers, seniority, or a short clock.
