Mat Manual companion guide to "How to Slip and Roll With Punches." Print it. The article draws the line between boxing movement and its Muay Thai adaptation. This book specifies the adapted slip against every punch, caps the roll's depth with film standards, and stages the build from mirror work to the kick-behind-the-punch drill.

Name: ______________________________ Gym: ______________________________ Stance: ______________ Background (boxing crossover / Muay Thai native): ______________ Coach's depth ruling for rolls: ______________

SAFETY, BEFORE ANYTHING ELSE ☐ The deep roll is banned in this book, in drills and in sparring, without exception. Depth is a safety standard here, not a style choice: rolls that drop the head below chest height are stopped and re-drilled. ☐ The kick behind the punch enters training only at the stage and power in Part 8, thrown to the body or held on a pad line by the coach's design. It is never thrown at a rolling head in partner work. ☐ Head-movement sparring games are fenced: punches at agreed contact, kicks at drill power or held out entirely per the game's rules in Part 11. ☐ Any student who takes a hard strike to the head in movement drills stops for the day and follows the gym's concussion protocol. Movement is rebuilt at shadow speed on return, with the coach's clearance. ☐ Neck pain or dizziness during slip and roll work ends the session's movement work. Report it the same day. ☐ Beginners hold the guard and block before they slip. Part 3's order (guard, slip, roll) is a gate, not a suggestion.
