Mat Manual companion guide to "It Works in Nagekomi: Closing the Randori Gap." Print it. The article names the five gifts. This book removes them one at a time: a diagnosis worksheet, the resistance ladder as drill cards with doses and pass marks, uke's duties for every rung, a six-session plan, a per-throw transfer checklist, and a log that measures your randori conversion before and after the bridge, so the plan's success is a number and not a feeling.

BEFORE ANYTHING: THE AGREEMENTS ☐ The rungs are climbed in order. A player does not skip to countering nagekomi because it sounds like the real thing. Each rung exists because the one below it taught something the top rung assumes. ☐ Uke's resistance is the percentage the card names, no more out of pride and no less out of kindness. A rep stolen by either error is restarted and logged as stolen. ☐ Falls in bridge work are full falls and are checked by the thrower on every rep. Conditions get harder across this book; landing duty never does. ☐ Completion rates will fall as rungs rise. That fall is the measurement, agreed in advance, and nobody apologises for it or softens a rung because of it. ☐ One throw is bridged at a time per player. A shelf of half-bridged throws is the disease this book treats, presenting as diligence.

How to use this book. Diagnose in Part 2. Enter the ladder at Part 3's overview, then work the cards in Parts 4 to 8 in order regardless of the diagnosis, because a gift you do not think you are living on is still worth one honest session of testing. The diagnosis decides emphasis, not exemption.
