Mat Manual companion guide to "How to Do Uchi-Komi That Actually Builds Throws." Print it. The article teaches why entries fail when nobody grades them. This book is the working drill book: family-by-family entry checklists, fit-in variation cards with doses, feeder report word sets, speed ladders with drop-back rules, nage-komi progressions kept separate from entry work, and logs that count passed entries instead of raw reps.

Player: ______________________________ Club: ______________________________ Coach: ______________________________ Main throw this block: ______________________________ Second throw: ______________________________ Stance: ☐ Right (migi) ☐ Left (hidari)

SAFETY, BEFORE ANYTHING ELSE ☐ Ukemi (falling technique) before any nage-komi in this book: the receiving partner's falls are checked at the start of every throwing block, not assumed from last week. ☐ Entry work is not throwing work. In uchi-komi parts, uke is never taken off their feet unless the part explicitly says nage-komi. ☐ Speed rises only when the feeder's reports hold. A set that produces a fall, a collision, or a tangled entry stops and restarts slower. ☐ Never enter at full speed on a partner whose feet are tangled, whose space behind is occupied, or who has said stop. The stop word ends the set for everyone, no debate. ☐ Young players and new players use shorter sets, more rest, and no loaded fit-ins until a coach signs the stage in Part 21. ☐ Any pain in a knee, shoulder, or neck during entries is reported before the next set. Entries are high volume, so small problems become big ones inside a single session.
