Mat Manual companion guide to "Riding the Legs: The Leg Ride and the Turk." Print it. The article makes the case: the leg ride answers the strong base by stretching it out from under the bottom player. This book builds the ride control-first, with entry cards by breakdown, leg-position standards, control gates that must pass before any turn, and a turk progression whose lift height is printed on the card.

Name: ______________________________ Gym: ______________________________ Current level: ______________ Coach: ______________

BEFORE ANYTHING: CONTROL FIRST, ALWAYS ☐ PASS/FAIL: No turn is attempted before the ride's control standards pass in that session (Parts 7 to 9). The turk is gated twice: behind the control holds, and behind your coach's clearance for your pairing. ☐ PASS/FAIL: The turk is a controlled lift-and-turn. The leg is raised by the hip and leg together to the height printed in Part 14 and no further, and the turn is driven by the body. A sideways crank against the knee fails the rep, ends the set, and is recorded in the log. ☐ Tap early and release instantly in all work in this book. A tap, a word, or a coach's call ends any ride, turn, or finish in the same motion it is heard or felt. ☐ Knee, hip, or lower-back pain that is sharp, in the joint, or new ends leg ride work for the day. The bottom player's stretched leg and the rider's posting hip both load joints in this book; report symptoms to your coach, do not ride through them. ☐ Pressure and resistance are scaled to the pair (Part 21). A rider much heavier or more experienced works at the lower stage with a smaller or newer partner, and the stage, not goodwill, sets the ceiling.
