Mat Manual companion guide to "The Arm Triangle That Will Not Finish." Print it. The article teaches the four defects that kill the finish. This reference gives you the build for each family member: mechanics cards for the arm triangle, the anaconda, and the D'Arce, the troubleshooting table that names the defect behind every failed finish, and drill schemes that train the structure with the squeeze switched off.

SAFETY, BEFORE ANYTHING ☐ These are blood chokes. Partners tap early and are released at the tap instantly, in drilling exactly as in rolling. A rep is never finished "to prove it works." ☐ Drilling in this book separates structure from squeeze: most reps end at the settle, with the close talked through, not applied. ☐ A partner who goes quiet, limp, or unresponsive is released at once and the coach is called. Seconds matter and pride does not. ☐ Neck cranks are not a family member. Pressure that twists the neck instead of closing the space is a fault, named as one in Part 24.
Part 1: The Family Map
| Choke | Door | Lock shape | Finish travel |
|---|---|---|---|
| Arm triangle | Mount or side, arm trapped across their face | Gable grip, forearm on the neck | Dismount, head low, walk hips toward their head |
| Anaconda | Front headlock, arm inside | Choking arm to own biceps | Roll over the trapped-arm side, settle, walk around |
| D'Arce | Top half, whizzer, front headlock variants | Arm threaded under neck to own far biceps | Sprawl, walk into them, shoulder drives their arm home |
