Mat Manual companion guide to "Chon-Ji, Taken Apart." Print it. The article takes the pattern apart. This book puts it into your body: the full 19-movement chunk map with the two halves side by side, floor-diagram drills that teach the cross as facings instead of a list, stance fault tables with their corrections, terminology and meaning study cards, and a self-check scorecard that grades your run the way a panel grades it.

BEFORE ANYTHING: HOW THIS BOOK IS USED ☐ Chon-Ji has 19 movements, three techniques, and two stances. Nothing in this book adds a technique to it. If a drill seems to be teaching a fourth technique, it is a fault drill, and it says so. ☐ The halves are learned in the book's order: the diagram first, the halves separately, the closing three on their own, then the whole. ☐ Your instructor's reading of any movement outranks this book. Note differences in Part 26's margins rather than practising two patterns. ☐ The pattern is performed on sine wave. The checks in this book assume the wave; where a fault is really a wave fault, the book sends you to the Sine Wave Workbook rather than fixing it twice.
Part 1: The Pattern on One Page
The whole pattern, as data. Everything else in this book is an expansion of one row of this card.
