Mat Manual companion guide to "Your Foot Sweeps Arrive Where the Foot Was." Print it. The article teaches the three states of a walking foot. This book trains the meeting: walking-pace drills for deashi-harai, landing-moment drills for the reaps, placed-block progressions for sasae-tsurikomi-ashi, rhythm-reading work for pairs, combination finishers, and a timing log that sorts your misses into early, late, and wrong-tool, because each one has a different cure.

SAFETY — READ FIRST ☐ Ukemi (falling technique) before throws: every finished sweep in this book lands a partner. Their side and back falls are checked before Stage 3 work begins. ☐ Control the partner's fall: keep a hand on the sleeve through every finished technique. ☐ Never throw a partner who cannot fall safely today. Timing drills run happily at entry-only terms; agree them before the set. ☐ A sweep meets a foot in transit with the sole of your foot. It never kicks a planted, loaded leg. Kicking a loaded leg is how ankles get hurt in this family, and any drill partner may call a stop on it at once. ☐ The reap's contact is the back or side of the leg, traveling. Never a chop into the side of a knee, never a hook on a twisted planted leg. ☐ Mat awareness: ashi-waza drilling travels in lines and circles. Pairs check their lane before every set.
